Background:-
I had always been sporty at school and loved everything from hockey and athletics to swimming and squash, but didn’t carry on much into my twenties when I started work. In my 30’s I started jogging again and after doing a local Race for Life in 2005, set myself the challenge of running a Half Marathon, which I completed in 1hr 47mins. I really fell in love with running and thankfully it helped me through some of the most difficult times of my life then too. I moved back to Cornwall in 2007 and joined Cornwall AC and then really started to take running seriously.

With the help, advice and inspiration of everyone at the club, especially my coach Alan Rowling- I’ve achieved more than I ever have thought possible. I feel incredibly lucky to be able to run- whether it is racing on the road, cross country, on the track or just running and training around the countryside and with friends. It has also given me the chance to encourage beginners and schoolchildren to take up running- and I enjoy taking out our local weekly beginners group and seeing everyone progress. I would love to become an endurance coach when my less competitive days arrive!

It’s a great running community in Cornwall- everyone involved is supportive and wants to do well and Kay at At Your Pace has helped me so much with her advice and support too.

My philosophy is work really hard, aim for the impossible and be grateful for every bit of running you do, even when it’s really tough!

World Champion Triathlete | At-Your-Pace Ambassador supported by Saucony

neileddy-6In a successful last few years, I have been progressing towards becoming competitive at an elite level in Great Britain & abroad, having the honour of representing Great Britain at elite (Aquathlon) and age group level at the World Triathlon Championships. I have forged a great relationship with sponsors since 2010, when local bike shop Cycle Logic, kindly offered to support me. This great partnership is still continuing, supplying me with professional level bikes and maintenance, helping me to focus upon progressing myself and providing a role model to younger and aspiring athletes in Cornwall. Recent highlights include being selected to represent Great Britain at elite level at the World Aquathlon Championships held in Hyde Park in 2013, achieving 9th place in my first international elite race. In previous years I have been twice national age group champion, twice Cornwall Series Champion, and represented Great Britain at 3 World championships at age group level recording 3 top 10 finishes.

Being a top level athlete within Cornwall I have built a healthy relationship with local media, this has helped me feature regularly in local papers and their online presence such as facebook and twitter, giving any potential sponsors a great baseneileddy-5 to feature and promote your business and brand. I would like to develop a successful, mutual relationship with any potential sponsors and help grow your business in any manner I can.

Growing up in Cornwall, and being an active child, I had the advantage of a wide choice of sports. It wasn’t until 2009 however, at the age of 22, that I decided to enter a half marathon – on a whim! The Great North Run proved a successful first venture into long distance running, coming 77th with no formal training.

Fast forward 7 years, and with the guidance of my local club, Mounts Bay Harriers I’ve consistently won on the local ‘grand prix’ circuit in races between 5 miles and half-marathon and placed in the top 50 nationally in cross country.

2016 was a big turning point in my running career. After many years of treating running as a ‘serious hobby’, my 2:23, top 50 finish, at The London Marathon gave me the impetus to train more professionally, even crowd funding a trip to

????????????????????????????????????

The High Altitude Centre in Kenya in pursuit of marathon excellence. With an England vest the main priority, my 2017 race calendar of London, Berlin and New York will be testing, exciting and hopefully my most successful year to date!
